Introducing our Director of Development: Dr Ciarán O’Carroll

Today, we officially welcomed our new Director of Development… Dr. Ciarán O’Carroll.

Ciarán has spent 12 years working in London and Dublin in sustainability, business development and communications for organisations including PWC, L’Oréal and ActionAid. Whilst working at PwC he was Sustainability Advisor to Irish-based multinational companies supporting them to develop their sustainability strategies and meet their ESG reporting requirements.

Ciarán has a PhD in chemistry having worked with Teagasc to develop new technologies to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture and a certificate in Business Sustainability Management from the @cambridgeuniversity. He has a popular podcast called ‘Climate Change for Beginners’ and has given public lectures at Trinity College, UCD and the Science Gallery on the science behind climate change. He has been a member of Maynooth University Governing Authority, Amnesty International Ireland’s Executive Committee and is currently a member of Civil Defence Ireland Search and Rescue.

Ciarán will bring his wealth of experience to bear in supporting Change by Degrees as it expands into new markets and attracts new clients. Ciarán will lead on business development and relationship development as well as working with us on existing and new services.
